3 Party Looks for 3 Party Occasions

Party season is upon us! Almost – count down the days with me. I hope you’ve practiced your best fake (and real) smiles, swotted up on what’s going on in pop culture and seen Donald Trump’s latest terrible tweet so your party-ready self is up to standard. And, of course, we can’t forget the outfits.

There seems to be a love/hate divide between party dressing – and I bet you can guess where I stand on it! I’ll revel in any opportunity to dress up a bit, throw some glitter on myself and drink unlimited Prosecco (and. eat. unlimited. canapes. duh) But there are usually so many different party occasions -you have your work Christmas do where you want to look stylish enough to impress your boss but also sexy enough to catch the attention of “fit guy in accounts” (for lack of a better name), then you have your girls night out with your nearest and dearest, and then of course, your festive dinner and drinks with your old school friends when you’re back in your hometown. And of course, everything in between. But I’ve settled on those top 3 occasions to style up some of Dune’s fanciest party shoes.

The Work Christmas Party

Cool, stylish, sophisticated, and not totally over-the-top. Yes, a Christmas Party dress may seem the easy option to go to, but unless you work at a small company, or you’re willing to buy vintage or order from some obscure website, I always think there’s a very good chance you might end up wearing the exact same outfit as one of your lesser-known colleagues, and ending up in a blanket email of “who wore it better” that bitchy Sharon in HR sent out the next day. So avoid this by

a) trying out statement tailoring instead. These leopard-print trousers are eye-catching, chic, and a far cooler way to approach your work Christmas party dress code.

and

b) wearing Dune’s MWAH heels. To be honest, it doesn’t even matter if you show up wearing the same dress as someone else when you’re wearing these. They are so different, standout and sassy, you’ll look 1million times better than the girl in the other dress.

GIRLS NIGHT OUT!

Every girl gang needs one big festive night out. It’s an excuse to put on your highest heels (literally, my highest ever, in this case *cough cough* Dune *cough cough*) and shortest skirts and dresses. I went for a glitter-drenched mesh T-shirt dress, throwing on a boxy masculine blazer for a little bit of laid-back chic vibes. I accessorised the sparkle of the dress with the accessories – silver velvet from these shoes, and the gunmetal hardware of my Gucci Dionysus.

FESTIVE DINNER & DRINKS

Although an arguably more low-key affair, you’d never catch me dead scrimping on the sparkle during festive drinks and dinner with friends. So for me, it’s all about combining some shimmer with your casual pieces. Dune’s catwalk-inspired sock boots are the perfect all-dayer, so you can wear them out and about at meetings and in the office with your favourite jeans, then you simply need to swap your jumper and tee combo for a sparkly cami and blazer. It’s literally that easy!
