The Online Shopping Site You Need To Up Your Personal Style Game
I really like to avoid using clickbaity sounding titles that use verbs like MUST, NEED, SHOULD (!!!) to stress the importance of what the post is trying to get across to you. But I’ll let it slide this time because honestly, you need to start shopping from this fashion site that’s dripping with all the hottest designs. Ever heard of SilkFred? Probably – there’s been eye-catching Facebook ads popping up on my newsfeed for some time. Ever bought from them? Well, if the answers no, you have to change that with immediate effect in order to ensure you are always that member of your friendship group that has everyone else asking “OMG, where did you get that?”
Your reply?
“Oh, this? Just some cool new independent brand I found at SilkFred”
We’ve all been there before. You know, turning up to a party having spent ages (and a decent proportion of your wages) on a new outfit, only to see someone else showing up wearing the exact same dress. Sure, a cute twinning moment is always a fun and Instagram-worthy way to brush off the awks, but at the end of the day, it still is simply awks. Next thing you know, you’ve spent the whole night in the bathroom, avoiding being sniffed at by everyone else, drinking flute after flute of Prosecco to the point where you start saying “Nah babes! Don’t you worry, you wore it best!” to yourself in the mirror.
This is exactly the reason why I’ve started turning to SilkFred as my go-to for killer outfits when I’ve got an event where I would rather spend a month without coffee than be caught wearing the same look as someone else. Consider it a huge online shopping centre, but instead of having only a couple of shops you actually like with the rest being absolute rubbish (because let’s face it, that’s exactly what your local shopping centre is like, isn’t it?) SilkFred is a curation of online boutiques waiting to be discovered. Dancing Leopard is one of my favourites, with this cool summer-ready vibe that screams LA-to-Ibiza (not Miami – can’t copy Tiny Tempah here). Fans of low-cut maxi dresses slashed all the way up the thigh should check them out for spring/summer – accessorise with a tan and juicy cocktail and you’re good to go. And this flouncy fabulous frilly top I’m wearing in my photos? It’s by a label called Lilah-Rose and is exactly what you need to add some fun to an all-black look.
You know when you discover a band first, and then everyone starts listening to them and you feel super cool because you liked them first? I pretty much did that with Ed Sheeran when I was in university. I made everyone in my halls listen to him and buy tickets to watch him play at our SU for £11.50. And look at him now! Consider SilkFred your sartorial equivalent, and this is me telling you to go out and buy your damn ticket.
