More Ruffles, Please!

Strike the balance between ultra feminine and no-frills tailoring with, well, some frills…

Happy Humpday! If anything is needed to give a kick to the midweek lull it’s a little bit of frou-frou frills and ruffles. If ruffles were big news for SS16, then it would seem that they’ve sipped some maximising potion or overdosed on steroids for autumn/winter. There’s not a T-shirt, sweatshirt, skirt or even jeans that seem safe from the addition of a flouncy trim here or there (or everywhere.) But if all of this extra added volume is a little to Disney Princess for you, this Style Mafia jumpsuit steps in with a neat mix of tailoring trimmed with delicate notes.

As much as I love dipping my toes in the ultra-feminine pool, frills can be a little too saccharine for my liking, so it has to be the right amount. Too much and you’re going to look like a doily your nan would happily rest a cake on, too little and well, your look wont quite hit the right note on the style radar.

It’s all about balance. Spilling with ruffles at the top, strictly tailored into a flattering tapered leg, and filtered in the spectrum’s most versatile hue, this jumpsuit is both statement-making and refined all at once. Take your everyday striped breton top and team it with this for an update that’ll look slick in the office and cute avec cocktails after hours. See you at the bar babe.
