(Genuinely) Easy Summer-Ready Half-Up Knot Tutorial
Unless I’m hungover with my hair scraped into a bun, my hair exists in the constant state of loose, soft, bohemian waves. It’s become a signature of mine. I’m 99% sure it’s the fallout from primary school, back when I had bum-length natural hair but we were all forced to have it constantly tied in fear of contracting headlice. Yet now, the tumbling curls exist perennially, like breaking out of the constraints that held my hair quite literally back as a child! Whist I wouldn’t say I’m stuck in a hairstyle rut (I love my hair like this) I could do with trying out something new. With it being summer, it’s the perfect time to experiment – albeit, just a little – from the everyday, so I had a play around with the ghd Platinum Styler to recreate something slightly different, whilst still retaining the aesthetic my signature long locks.
This half-up knot hairstyle is honestly super easy. All you need to do is add some soft curls, separate the top section, twist it, knot it, and pin it. You’re left with something found in the intersection between boho goddess, festival queen, and modern-day Rapunzel that also works a dream for when you haven’t washed your hair and need to really overuse the dry shampoo (texture is key for this!) Follow this simple step-by-step tutorial on how to nail it.
This post was created in collaboration with ghd. Platinum styler and heat protector spray c/o the brand, and monetary compensation was provided.
Love this look! Definitely going to try it out x
