An Ode To Off-Duty Dressing

In collaboration with Dorothy Perkins

Call it the aftermath of the normcore trend which subverted fashion on its spindliest high heels a couple of years back, but off-duty style has become one of my favourite ways to get dressed. Truth is, yes, pretty dresses are nice, and yes I do love an off-the-shoulder neckline, but sometimes you simply can’t beat classic jeans and a shirt, and luckily, Dorothy Perkins have been bolstering my wardrobe with must-have AW16 staples.

Fashion blogs have become a space to showcase incredible styling, but what of the everyday? Doesn’t that deserve a bit of limelight too? When the weekend hits in, you’ll find me kicking back in this kind of look. In fact, with a work dress code of smart/casual, you’re also likely to find me wearing something like this around the office too. Sorry to ruin the glistening veneer of working in the luxury fashion sector, but comfort reigns supreme in the office more often than not! But who said you can’t be comfortable and stylish?

Having a neat selection of go-to items that’ll look effortlessly cool whatever the season means you’re always ready for last minute invitations for coffee, drinks, brunch. Maybe you drank too much on a Thursday night, hit snooze too many times and you’re running late for work? That’s cool too. That’s what outfits like this were made for. Simple, casual, effortless, throw-on-and-go basics. Check out the rest of Dorothy Perkins AW16 collection to get your off-duty (and on-duty) wardrobe up to scratch!
