Never Fully Dressed

The phrase Never Fully Dressed has been stripped back to its literal meaning, because I have been spending 95% of my life just so: never fully dressed.

The phrase Never Fully Dressed has been stripped back to its literal meaning, because I have been spending 95% of my life just so: never fully dressed. Thanks to the pyjama trend peaking, it means that I can’t quite remember the last time I’ve worn an ensemble that includes 100% full clothes. Or worn actual clothes. And what’s so bad about that? Nothing, I’m telling you. Any trend that makes it socially acceptable to wear the clothes you wore in bed last night is fine by me.

Besides, some nightwear is far too pretty to reserve only for your weekday nights. Why waste it on your cat and a bottle of vino and the pizza delivery man when you can take to the streets in an outfit that proclaims “I actually did wake up like this! See, pyjamas!” (obviously ignoring the fact that you’ve probably got a full face of makeup.) Day-to-night style is no longer about wearing a nice frock to work on a Friday that’ll also pass as a going-out-out-outfit in the bar come 5:31pm. Day-to-night style starts and ends with a sleek pyjama blouse that you haven’t taken off for days because a) it looks so good b) it’s in fashion c) you don’t need to take it off because it’s pyjamas and d) you should probably change that shirt now because it’s beginning to smell.

All hail the pyjama trend. Please, please, don’t go out of fashion anytime soon because that means I’m actually going to have to get dressed for work again.
