Archive By Alexa #2 – The Eliza Dress

High necklines, swinging A-line silhouettes and thigh-grazing hemlines – yes, there’s a lot to love about the Eliza dress, my second instalment of what I cherrypicked from Marks & Spencer’s Archive By Alexa collection. Modelled on the 1950s original, this updated, reinvented iteration has a distinct sixties vibe about it, not to mention POCKETS. Any dress that I can stash my Oyster card, bank card, and lipstick into is a clear sartorial winner in my eyes.

Alexa was clever with her revival collection, picking pieces that despite having their history firmly rooted in, well, history (some items harking back to the 40s-50s), they can look just as modern and relevant today. Take this little paisley floral dress, it’s unapologetically retro, yet you can pull it out of your wardrobe and throw it on with a leather jacket, trench, boots or mules, and it’ll never fail to charm.
