Dorothy

This post was always going to be titled Dorothy. When I put on this swishy full skirted number I feel like an updated, modern and slightly mis-coloured version of the protagonist from the Wizard of Oz. Bright, coloured, gingham print.
Sure, red isn’t the toned down sky blues seen on good old Dotty’s dress. And the size of the check is a little bit more magnified than the dainty little squares in the original film. But being classic, and full-skirted in a retro mid-length it’s hard not to feel a little bit like an old-school musical star in this pretty swishy skirt.
And yes, it has come to my attention that I may have a mild obsession with checked clothing. But can you blame me? Every high street store seems to be overflowing with ginghams and tartan prints. I just can’t help myself!
