I am turning into a cat lady: The July Edit
Instagram. How deceptive you can be. There is a good chance I have tricked you with these photographs by rose-tinting reality.
Expectations
: I have a super pretty life, I drink and eat awesome food, wear nice dresses, only drink out of teacups (a la Lady Gaga) things and surround myself only with beautiful things (and a creepy doll here and there…)
Reality
: I have spent this entire month anticipating the indefinite move to London whilst withering into a decrepit old crazy cat lady.
Bad
Seriously, I have become a crazy cat lady. In the absence of constant plans with friends and living in the middle of a city, I have formed the strongest bonds to animals. Limited not only to my own cats, I have befriended the neighbours cats. They will be my minions. I will create an army.
Good
LONDON. Finally! I am moving to the big city! Rejoice. I am being saved from the impending doom of cat-lady-spinsterdom. Alright, technically I am moving tomorrow, which I know is actually August, but the plans were officially made in July, so I’m slipping it in here…
Good
All these endless hours of nothingness have actually been spun into something productive: I’ve been doing far more blogging, have met more bloggers, and I’m enjoying it more than ever.
Bad
My bank balance. Just don’t… I cant…
It’s all sunshine and flowers writing a fashion and personal style blog, but it doesn’t half feed the addiction to clothing. Help me, I’m poor.
Good
I have had a wardrobe clear out! The second lot of my wardrobe sale is up on
.
There’s quite a few Topshop pieces that are still in store at full price now, and I started selling them at 99p. Who doesn’t love an eBay bargain?
Really Good
Graduation. Despite having to trek around Cardiff, and sit through a two hour ceremony in Hogwarts-esque robes during the hottest day of the year, I actually had the most wonderful time. Cardiff has given me the best three years, and seeing all of the girls I lived with will always special. There are no words for how much I miss Uni girl antics…
AND I wore the most beautiful red silk dress by Sessun. If you want to take a look at that outfit in detail click
. (It’s worth it, the dress looks like I made it out of glorious giant silky red poppy petals)
Buy of the Month
So, yeah. I confess… I didn’t actually buy these myself. My wonderful Mother and Father bought me these stunning Pigalle 120’s by the oh-so-chic Christian Louboutin as a graduation present. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. My first pair of red soles. Feeling down? I put them on my feet. And look at them. If my feet had their own faces they’d be smiling. Or crying. With delight. The happiness just melts in from these bad boys, into the soles of my feet and up through my blood stream. Shallow? Undeniably. Do I really care? Not when these beauties are sitting pretty on my feet…
I hope you’ve all had the most amazing July! I will have another outfit post up on the blog tomorrow!
Until then,
Sophie
